OUR WORK
A collection of recyclable items
ABOUT US
I started the recycling project in 2011, at a very small scale, inspired by a number of factors being;

1. love for art using recycling material as I have built my own house using recyclable material.
2. Cleaning the environment.
3. Business opportunities by converting waste into business.
4. Fighting Crime by the Creation of employment within the community.
These were and are still the key drivers that kept me going with little or limited resources to achieve bigger goals such building a proper recycling facility with all equipment required.
The recyclable material that we commonly collecting for recycling are;
1. plastic i.e. PP, Hdpe, Pet & Ldpe solf plastic.
2. Paper i.e. white, super mix, common, news papers, magazines & K4 boxes.
3. Glass,
4. Cans both steel & Aluminium,
5. Wood.

Currently I employ 55 people to sort out the collected recyclable waste which is then supplied to various big recycling companies (K&C Waste, Allscrap, Pelmeango, bawo, Wastmart etc).Not having my own vehicle to both collect and then deliver the recyclable goods, i have to hire a vehicle.

I also buy recyclable waste from the community waste collectors, to the extent that each day close to 300 people will come to sell their waste that they collect in the community and its surroundings, meaning those people are also indirectly employed, since they economically depends on this initiative.
My mission is also to reduce crime in the area because some of our youth are driven into crime because of not having something to do in terms of work opportunities.

Besides the recycling initiative, I have also, together with the Vrygrond Community Development Forum, which I am leading, opened a Vrygrond Special Needs Foundation, taking care of people of all ages with disabilities, to this end we really need your support to continue the good work we are doing for these vulnerable people. We can also collect unwanted refuse from you, which we takes to the landfill site at a very reasonable cost as part of our job creation initiative for this community as a means to combat crime and attempt to create opportunities for the unemployed youth.
